Through the acquiring of the agency rights from AlphaChem Limited in South Korea Ink-Mate SA (Pty)Ltd. was set to become one of the leading companies in the cartridge refill market.

The first Ink-Mate products reached the South African market in the year 2000 and were distributed through resellers like computer- and stationary shops.

The company experienced phenomenal growth in the first few years. With the development and implementation of a new and unique distribution infrastructure it is set to continue this growth over the next few years.

During October 2002 it was decided to test the concept of a dedicated cartridge refill shop. The first Cartridge Refill Centre was opened in Vereeniging. Through the success of this Centre, 5 more centre's were opened during the following few months.

Since the introduction of the first Ink-Mate Cartridge Refill Centre , 16 Centers were opened. Up to date they all proved to be profitable and sustainable businesses.
